Organizational Agility is defined as “The capacity to quickly and efficiently create, redeploy, reconstitute, and reallocate the resources of the organization in a manner which optimizes their use in an environment or allows them to create new environments.”1 Today’s business leaders from the C-Suite to line supervisors have a need to understand this concept and the criticality of championing true Business Agility.
To move away from a legacy of less effective practices and siloed thinking:
- Build skills of leaders who understand how things are “really” done to start the small wins at the onset.
- Enable leaders and managers to reward the actions and behaviors that are foundational for cultural change and directional shift.
- Clarify purpose from top-down and bottom-up to drive better understanding across all stakeholders.
The challenge many organizations face today is they have not fully developed this mindset and the necessary skills to effectively lead and manage in a constantly evolving environment. With the right plan, commitment and skills development, any company can become an Agile Organization.
